and since imperialuism became a soccer blog for the night…

I have to say, I am really proud of Deportivo Quito. I am a fan of Liga de Quito so I’m supposed to hate this team but Ecuador always comes first in my mind. It truly amazes me the impact a coach can have on a team. Ischia took this team from being a bunch of scrubs to possibly being in the top 8 clubs in South America. Fidel Martinez is bound to be a star, he just needs to stop going with that Neymar look. Alustiza is a goleador, no other way to describe him. Saritama is slowly shutting me up on whether he deserved to start for the National Team. Paredes is such a great winger and the fact that he can play RB gets me so pumped for WCQ against Argentina and Colombia! Valencia and Paredes is gonna be so deadly on the right! This team is destined for big things and it feels good to grow up during the Golden Era of Ecuadorian futbol. Not to mention the progress the country is making as a whole! I fucking love everything about Ecuador right now! :’)

Not enough blogs showing the importance of the copa libertadores.

Someone should do something about this! You know like making some cool blog about players and teams to watch! Results and fixtures! Y mejor que sea en español y portugues.

Olimpia 2 - Emelec 3

Good to see an Ecuadorian team advance into the round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores, especially in such a dramatic fashion! Flamengo and Lanus were part of the group and although Lanus was qualified to the next round Flamengo was fighting to stay alive. They beat Lanus 3-0 but they had to pay attention to the results of the other game. A tie was the best result for Flamengo but in the 93rd minute Emelec scored the goal that helped them advance and send the Brazilians packing! :)

Good news for Ecuadorian football! Deportivo Quito also has a good chance of making it to the next round with a win at home against Chivas on Tuesday. Not a fan of either teams but it’s always good to see Ecuadorian teams represent our country well. :D
